One in five persons in the EU has experienced discrimination. Still, for more than ten years EU ministers are delaying legislation to combat discrimination in Europe. It is unacceptable that legislation that would end discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, disability, religion and age, can just be stuffed away in a drawer. It is unacceptable that ministers can hide for their responsibility.
We, Greens/EFA Members of the European Parliament are no longer waiting. We are ready, but we need the EU ministers to act. So we ask for your help.
It is time to wake up your minister and get them into action to protect all their citizens. Ask them make a New Year’s resolution to unblock this important legislation and act against discrimination.
