Don’t destroy our forests

This Thursday, the Christian Democrat EPP Group will try to bring down nature, by targeting the EU deforestation law. This law prohibits companies selling products that come from deforestation or human right violations.

Why does the EPP hate nature so much? We know people don’t want to buy products from destroyed nature. Why does the EPP not see this?

With every weakening and delay of the deforestation law, we destroy more forests worldwide. This law - adopted with a large majority in the European Parliament, including the EPP, is essential to protect our forests, which are vital not only for biodiversity but also for the climate and the wellbeing of future generations.

With their actions, the EPP is proving themselves unreliable and irresponsible - including to the many companies that have already prepared for the legislation to come into force.

Riding on the wave of populism, they are taking their chances on their anti-green crusade.

👉 The vote is on Thursday 14 November and the EPP can only succeed with the support of the far right groups - which means breaking the agreement not to cooperate with them.

We need people to speak out - to hold the EPP accountable on their destruction of nature and on their cooperation with far right parties.
