The EU-Mercosur trade agreement is a deal of the last century, benefiting agro-industrial giants filling their pockets, while nature and local farmers on both sides of the Atlantic keep struggling.
We all want our farmers - the people who feed us - to earn a good income. And we want to protect nature from destruction, both in South-America and in Europe.
This trade agreement with the Mercosur region puts both at risk, all to benefit the trade interests of big corporations exploiting vulnerable nature to raise cattle, grow soy or for illegal logging. It would mean unfair competition to our struggling farmers.

This deal is not a done deal yet. Even though the European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen finalised the negotiations, it is still up to the EU countries and the European Parliament to ratify the agreement. Already many countries have voiced their objections. Now is the time to tell them to vote against this deal.
