Time for the EU to step up ambition on homelessness.
And yet, right now, at least 700,000 people across Europe are sleeping rough or in homeless shelters each night, an increase of 70% in ten years and it continues to rise.
It doesn’t have to be this way. With your help we can change it.
The European Parliament has voted with a large majority to urgently tackle homelessness rates and set a goal to work towards ending homelessness in the EU by 2030.
Greens/EFA MEP Kim Van Sparrentak, has written a report on access to decent and affordable housing for all, which reinforces this demand and sets out measures to tackle the housing crisis more widely.
We have the tools to halt growing rates of homelessness in the EU, and even end homelessness for good, if the EU and Member States work together.
We want to see:
Join us in calling on Commissioner Nicolas Schmit and the EU Commission to come with a framework for national homelessness strategies and a goal to end homelessness by 2030.
With your support, we can strengthen our call on the EU Commission to take forward these demands as a next step.
Housing is a human right.
Let’s work on this together. Let’s defend the right to housing for all.
Support our call to #endhomelessness by 2030.
